It’s a small town with Etruscan origins, well known for the extraction and processing of Alabaster. It’s located deep inside a countryside unpolluted nature; inside the town center you can visit the Cathedral, the “Priori” Palace, The Roman Theater and the “Medici” Fortress with the close “Fiuni” Park. In the same park you can stop for a picnic open air. Really interesting are the views on the countryside around, in particular the ones on the “Balze”, typical rocky shapes visible on the sides of the hills. You won’t miss a stop to buy souvenirs…obviously made in Volterra’s Alabaster! |
