For over thirty years during the summer in the park of the homonymous villa is held the Versiliana Festival: the most anticipated and appreciated cultural event of the coast. Almost every day you have the opportunity to spend the afternoon or the evening in the cool of the pine forest park witnessing debates, theater performances, concerts, ballets and book presentations.
Over time the “Meetings at the Café” of the festival have hosted politicians, writers, artists and other personalities of the Italian scene as Giulio Andreotti, Margherita Hack, Enzo Biagi, Andrea Bocelli, Piero Angela, Rita Levi Montalcini. Every year the festival program is enriched with new cultural and recreational initiatives that attract many tourists in the park.
The idea was to recreate at the villa a special creative atmosphere on the example of the circles and cultural cafes scattered throughout the Versilia from the 30s to the 60s of the twentieth century. Often the new literary proposals, music and comedy presented at the Versiliana Festival come to conquer even the general public, in some cases, taking on international reputation.
Much of the program is reserved to children. For them it was created “The Versiliana for Children” in which volunteers and qualified staff hold creative workshops in theater, painting and music in the pine forest. All the activities dedicated to children are free and open to parents.
