Viareggio CUP

The Viareggio Cup is an international sport event involving numerous youth football teams. The winner team is awarded with a trophy depicting the Burlamacco, the carnival mask of Viareggio.

Born in 1949, thanks to the ongoing commitment and passion of the Young Footballers Centre, the tournament is arrived at the 68° edition. The event is known even as “Coppa Carnevale” because usually is held in the same period of the carnival, when floats parade along the promenade. But the edition of 2016 has been renovated: the 68° edition of Viareggio Cup will start on March 14 and will end on March 30 with the finale. To the tournament will participate more than 30 teams, more than 800 footballers.

From year to year the Viareggio Cup has increased its fame and improved its organization imposing itself on the international football scene as the most important youth tournament of italian sport panorama and real hotbed of talent. During years, have participated to the tournament some great football champion as Del Piero, Totti, Pirlo and Buffon.
