Wine Road
The Wine Route Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia crosses a rural territory of rare beauty. It is the landscape of the “Lucchesia”, a natural environment rich and cozy with brilliant colors and spectacular light reflections. Here meet sea and hills, valleys and mountains.
This is the production area of the DOC wine of Lucca Hills and Montecarlo, but here are produced even excellent oil and many other specialities used in the local recipes.
The path of the Wine Route Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia descents from the Apuan Alpsto Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio crossing lots of small localities before entering in Lucca.
Overcome the hills surrounding the city, the route arrives in Capannori, Altopascio and Montecarlo. This itinerary is ideal even to travel by bike or by foot, obviously planning some stops along the way to rest and enjoy the journey.
Along the route there are numerous agricultural companies, wineries, wine shops and oil mills where, beside a tour of the property, offer a tasting of typical products of the territory.
